I’ve had a passion for videography since I was a junior in high school. I had this VCD (Visual Communication Design) course that inspired me SO much that when I went to look at universities, I only chose universities that offered an extensive visual communication program.
In college, I gained a deep background of knowledge in video production, editing, graphic design, typography, web design, and so much more. During my years of school, I worked for the local PBS station creating broadcast content ( half hour series shows like ‘Scenic Stops’, ‘American Woodshop’, plus full length documentaries like ‘Addiction: Heroin and Pills’ and ‘The Lima Locomotive’ as well as marketing and promotional commercials for BGSU and BGSU Athletics. I did everything from shooting basketball games, being technical director and director at football games, roaming reporter for BGSU marketing shoots, I put together video packages for award shows, was a voice over actor, shot in studio and on location, edited and produced online video content, and so much more. This was the best practical experience I could have asked for!
From there, I moved onto the “big girl world” and took a position at Art Van Furniture as a videographer and editor for their Corporate Communications team. I created video content for our internal communications department to connect all 5,600 employees, I made daily instagram posts and stories for our social media, and collaborated with our PR team to photograph events/initiatives as they happen. I’m affectionally know as the “utility player,” meaning I’m a jack of all trades kinda girl. Up to any task. Again, this experience was exactly what I needed to progress through the communications world and hone in my visual storytelling skills.
Currently I work for RealGreen by WorkWave, a software and marketing services provider for green service industry businesses. As a member of the creative team within the marketing department, I am in charge of producing all our video content, I am the multimedia designer, plus I manage our social media on the day to day. There are countless other tasks I assume daily, but that’s why I’m a great utility player. This job has helped me strengthen my visual storytelling skills, but actually has given me more opportunities to work on my interactive design skills. It’s coming full circle - I loved designing in high school, and here I am doing it again!
On the side I work freelance gigs with clients who are in need of design or video services. I also love to put together videos of my own personal life so I can remember all the fun I’ve had. Check out my YouTube page or Instagram… there you will find ME being ME and documenting my life through my lens.
I’m a visual story teller. I like to create eye-catching designs and exciting visual media no matter what medium I’m working with. Consider me for any of your communication needs! It would be a pleasure to work with you!
